On our last day in the Teton Valley, we drove back through Alta, Wyoming, and up to the Grand Targhee Resort. Our mission was to take the chairlift up to the top of the mountain and enjoy the incredible views of the Tetons above and the valley below.
It was a beautiful sunny day and a nice quiet ride to the 9862-foot top of Fred’s Mountain. Karen did a great job of laying aside her fear of heights and really enjoyed both the chairlift ride and the view from the top. There are those who take their mountain bikes up on the lift and ride the trails back down.
We even met one family that hiked for three and a half hours to the top but were taking the lift down. We were quite content to ride the lift both ways.
